The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the game, and a commitment to the overall growth and development of student‑athletes both on and off the field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan for the middle school softball program, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring effective training sessions that cater to varying skill levels.
• Plan and schedule games and tournaments, coordinating logistics and transportation for the team.
• Monitor and evaluate athlete performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance to promote improvement.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and a love for the game.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, expectations, and student‑athlete progress.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure alignment with school policies and athletic department goals.
• Maintain safety standards during practices and games, ensuring all equipment is in good condition and that athletes are aware of safety protocols.
• Promote the softball program through community outreach, including organizing clinics, camps, and fundraising events.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in coaching and athlete development, attending relevant workshops or conferences as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience coaching softball at the middle school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young athletes and their families.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
