Job summary

Second Baptist School in Houston is seeking a Mid­dle School Girl’s Softball Coach to support the Head Coach in developing players, preparing practices, and running game day operations with a Christ-centered approach.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, coaching or playing experience, and a commitment to mentoring students in faith, athletics, and life skills; experience with a Christian school and a collaborative spirit are a plus.

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Have prior coaching and/or playing experience in softball or baseball.
• Mentor student athletes in Christian faith, athletic skills and life skills.
• Understand Christian education with a biblical perspective on athletics.
• Establish cooperative working relationships and be approachable.
• Be reliable, personable, and willing to collaborate with colleagues.
• Proficient in technology and report to work regularly.
• Coaching experience, teacher certification or knowledge of SBS may be a plus.

Second Baptist School is currently seeking a MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL’S SOFTBALL COACH.

• Position Title: Middle School Girl's Softball Coach
• Reports To: Head Coach / Director of Athletics
• Compensation: Seasonal, stipend

The goal of the Department of Athletics at Second Baptist School is to provide an environment of competition, cooperation and teamwork for our students that glorifies God and provides valuable life lessons. Winning the contest is important to any competitor, but the lessons learned in the heat of competition are the most important attributes to be gained from the contest.

JOB SUMMARY.

The Middle School Girl’s Softball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the middle school softball program, including player development, practice preparation, game execution, communication and team culture. The middle school coach will model Christ-centered leadership while helping cultivate a competitive and positive team environment.

CANDIDATE SUMMARY.

• Be a dedicated and loyal team member supporting all school-level activities and school-wide initiatives.
• Possess a strong desire to coach and develop all athletes.
• Have demonstrated competency in playing and/or coaching softball or baseball.
• Assist in leading and supporting all aspects of the varsity women’s softball program with professionalism and integrity.
• Be committed to carrying out the policies and procedures of the SBS athletic handbook and assume responsibilities assigned by the school and Director of Athletics.
• Be a responsible steward of the school’s resources.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED.

To perform this job successfully, candidates must:
