Job summary

Maricopa Unified School District seeks an Athletic Coach to provide leadership in developing student athletes and upholding discipline and sportsmanship. You will instruct athletes in specific sports, plan practice schedules per district policy and AIA regulations, and supervise safety and equipment.

The ideal candidate has coaching experience, knowledge of coaching techniques, and relevant NFHS and CPR certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching
• NFHS Coaches Course including Concussion Course
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Valid Driver Licence

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for successful performance
• Provide a positive learning environment for the athletes
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season in accordance with district policy and AIA regulations
• Manage athlete behavior during training sessions and during meets or events
• Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
• Assist the athletic director, when necessary, in scheduling interscholastic contests where applicable
• Maintain complete and accurate records as required (i.e. attendance forms, insurance records, file accident reports, etc.)
