Job summary

Qualifications

• Expressed interest in athletics.
• Experience in coaching.
• Physical ability to perform essential functions.
• Available to work during assigned hours.
• Understanding of district goals for athletic program.
• Knowledge of coaching techniques and human behavior.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations regarding student conduct and disciplinary action.
• Familiar with care and treatment of athletic injuries.
• Certification in certification programs for coaches (NFHS course including concussion).
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Valid Driver Licence.
• 39-month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Coaches participants in the skills necessary for successful performance.
• Provide a positive learning environment for the athletes.
• Plan and schedule regular practices in season in accordance with district policy and AIA regulations.
• Manage athlete behavior during training and meets or events.
• Assist athletic director with scheduling interscholastic contests where applicable.
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintain complete and accurate records (attendance forms, insurance records, accident reports).
• Oversee safety conditions of the facility during practices and events.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
