Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks an experienced head coach for the Bound Brook School District to lead the high school athletics program. You will instruct athletes, develop skills, and promote sportsmanship and character through competition and training.

Responsibilities include implementing district policies, coordinating staff, scheduling events, and mentoring student-athletes. Candidates should have strong coaching credentials and a commitment to safety and positive role modeling.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport; willingness to study new theories and procedures.
• Must serve as a positive role model for student athletes through actions and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement athletic policies approved by the Plainwell Community Schools' Board of Education and ensure implementation by the sports staff.
• Know and interpret system, state, and league regulations; apply them consistently and explain them to staff.
• Follow proper administrative command lines and route requests through proper channels; attend meetings as required.
• Establish the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff; design conferences, clinics and staff meetings.
• Train and inform staff, encourage professional growth through clinic attendance.
• Delegate duties, supervise implementation and evaluate staff performance.
• Maintain discipline, resolve grievances and work to increase morale and cooperation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by athletic director/principal.
• Assist athletic director with scheduling, transportation, and event requirements.
• Prepare for events, coordinate with maintenance and school staff.
• Document compliance with state and system requirements for physical examinations and eligibility.
• Provide safeguards for equipment and sites.
• Advise the athletic director and suggest policy changes.
• Mentor athletes to develop character traits; monitor grades and conduct.
• Provide guidance during travel and practices; enforce training rules.
• Supervise student managers, assistants and statisticians.
• Determine discipline and communicate with parents when needed.
• Assist athletes in college or advanced education planning.
• Participate in budgeting and equipment management.
• Maintain inventory and proper equipment handling.
• Ensure facility security and cleanliness.
• Promote sport through community outreach and media relations.
