Job summary

Clay is seeking a Workplace Experience Lead to own and elevate every aspect of our HQ operations, including facilities, space planning, and vendor management. You will balance operational excellence with hospitality and culture-building for a 160,000 sq ft flagship space.

The role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership in large-scale office operations, capable of driving innovative programming and collaborating across global teams.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of workplace/facilities experience with 250+ people
• Experience leading large-scale office moves
• Extensive experience managing facilities for 100,000+ sq ft spaces
• Strong strategic thinking to develop long-term workplace plans
• Excellent project management with multiple concurrent initiatives
• Proven vendor/contract management experience
• Proven ability to engage senior leadership and stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills with calm, collected decision-making
• Clear written and verbal communication, with ability to influence
• Service-oriented mindset focused on exceptional workplace experiences
• Creative vision and willingness to experiment with space and programs
• Nice to have: experience at a 500+ person company

Responsibilities

• Own all workplace operations for Clay HQ, including facilities management, space planning, vendor relationships, budget management, and long-term strategic planning for a 160,000 sq ft space
• Lead by example, set excellence standards for operations, mentor the NYC workplace team, and establish best practices
• Oversee all facility operations: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, security, access control, and maintenance
• Manage landlords, building management, cleaning, catering, security vendors; negotiate contracts
• Plan space utilization, seat assignments, office moves, and configurations for growth
• Lead workplace services: seating, norms, kitchen/pantry, meeting room tech, and front desk coordination
• Ensure building codes, fire safety, ADA, and safety compliance; lead emergency planning
• Own the workplace budget, track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities
• Collaborate on events and programs that strengthen culture and Clay community
• Dream up innovative workplace experiences, amenities, and programs for the 160,000 sq ft space
• Collaborate with SF and London teams to standardize processes while respecting local needs
• Track metrics and feedback to continuously improve the workplace experience
