The Division of Watershed Stewardship at Delaware DNREC seeks a Division Director to lead strategic program development, budgeting and operations for soil, water and coastline protection. You will guide professional staff and consultants, shape policy, and coordinate cross‑divisional initiatives to advance DNREC’s mission.

You’ll represent the department at state and national levels, manage a multi‑million dollar budget, and work with senior leaders to align priorities with environmental goals

Qualifications

• Experience establishing goals, objectives and priorities aligned with an organization's mission.
• Experience in policy administration including planning and evaluating policies and procedures.
• Experience in strategic planning with multi-year objectives and performance measures.
• Experience in coordinating and evaluating operational activities through supervision.
• Experience in financial administration: budgets, forecasting and internal controls.

Responsabilités

• Provides daily administrative and technical guidance to subordinate staff.
• Ensures compliance with all fiscal, contracts, personnel and budget rules.
• Analyzes and evaluates administrative functions and develops new systems.
• Serves on the department leadership team to relay priorities and challenges.
• Represents the Department at meetings and may serve on councils/committees.
• Directs staff and consultants in developing complex programs and goals.
• Coordinates short and long term planning for administrative units.
• Develops solutions and guidance to meet organizational objectives.
• Provides in-depth review and recommendations on environmental issues.
