Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Texas to lead warehousing and distribution activities within a dynamic logistics network. You will drive end-to-end operations planning, oversee drayage coordination, and supervise a large team to ensure on-time performance and cost control.

Responsibilities include developing business plans, optimizing labor hours, equipment costs, and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 7–15 years in transportation/warehousing with increasing responsibility.
• Experience in a 3PL environment supporting multiple customers or lines of business helpful.
• Experience in transportation management, pick-up and delivery, dray, etc.
• Experience working with drayage drivers and services.
• Experience negotiating with customers for contracts.
• Experience implementing and managing KPIs and holding teams accountable.
• Solid financial, analytical and P&L experience.
• Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement models.
• Experience with WMS/TMS/YMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains operations business plans, productivity and standards to meet customer and company requirements.
• Ensures procedures for shipments, disposition of materials, and inventory accuracy.
• Reviews reports and directs resolution of operational and maintenance problems to minimize costs and delays.
• Manages facility P&L and aggressive operating expense control.
• Collaborates with port management to facilitate drayage services.
• Performs data collection and reporting for cross-functional use and customer communication.
• Trains staff on policies, procedures, and safety compliance.
• Monitors safety practices and housekeeping to maintain a safe work environment.
• Provides guidance on safety and security and coordinates with corporate on issues.
• Directly supervises 5+ employees and oversees 200+ associates in Operations/ Transportation.
