Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Lewisville, TX is seeking a full-time ER Service Head to work alongside ER clinicians, specialists and the leadership team. A DVM from an accredited university with an internship and at least three years of ER experience is required; leadership experience is preferred.

The role involves managing clinician schedules, leading meetings, mentoring staff, and coordinating with medical leadership to improve ER patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• DVM from an accredited university; internship completed.
• At least three years of ER experience; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the schedule for all ER Clinicians, including PTO requests.
• Facilitate regular ER Clinician meetings and participate in hospital leadership meetings.
• Mentor ER Clinicians and new ER/ICU staff; oversee case management guidance.
• Integrate emergency and specialty services to manage hospitalized cases with Medical Director input.
• Assist in patient safety reporting and in recruiting ER Clinicians.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on ER/ICU initiatives and capital planning.
