Southern Illinois University at Carbondale is seeking an experienced accounting leader to direct the university's institutional accounting program, supervising staff and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The role involves developing and managing automated accounting systems, preparing annual reports for university administration and state/federal agencies, and aligning practices with internal equity.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in accountancy and 3+ years of supervisory accounting

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy or equivalent coursework.
• Three (3) years of accounting experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
• Three (3) years of additional professional level accounting experience consistent with the next lower level of this series.

Responsabilidades

• Directs the accounting operation with full management responsibility, including staff development and goal setting for an institutional accounting program.
• Maintains positive working relationships with staff, administrators, and the public, handling controversial issues tactfully.
• Provides administrative direction in automated accounting information systems used for decision-making data.
• Prepares annual reports and financial statements for university administration and for state and federal agencies.
• Directs development, adaptation, and revision of the accounting system to meet university needs.
• Performs work related to the lower level in this series; performs other related duties as assigned.
