Job summary

The RealReal is seeking a Head of Transportation to lead the evolution of its logistics strategy and network operations. This hybrid role blends strategy, analytics, and cross-functional leadership to build a high-performing transportation team and drive KPI performance.

You will shape carrier partnerships, oversee inbound/outbound product movement, and deliver cost efficiencies while maintaining a seamless consignor and consumer experience across TRR locations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years total experience; 2-3 years in management consulting, finance or similar analytical role a plus
• Previous ecommerce fulfillment, retail transportation or general supply chain operations
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational details while understanding the big picture
• Experience with quantitative analysis and modeling, creative problem solving, and cross-functional project management
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments, bring structure, prioritize and drive to results
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills, comfortable in Google Suite tools

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for movement of product in/outbound and across TRR locations, meeting SLAs and KPIs.
• Identify and execute network changes to enhance customer/consignor experience while driving cost efficiencies.
• Drive analytics and reporting for the shipping P&L; build and maintain models and communicate findings to executives.
• Manage and negotiate with third-party carriers to evolve strategic partnerships in logistics.

We are looking for a candidate with the ability build a team, define and deliver to KPIs, drive detailed analytics and influence cross- functionally to evolve the consignor and the consumer experience, as it pertains to product transportation.

What You Get To Do Everyday

• Provide leadership to team responsible for movement of product in/outbound and across TRR locations, managing to SLA and other KPIs, and pushing for continued operational efficiencies; Manage senior-level communication of network performance and summarize impact of initiatives to the business
• Identify and execute network changes to enhance customer/consignor experience, while driving cost efficiencies, particularly as it relates to logistics
• Drive analytics and reporting requirements for the shipping P&L. Key responsibilities including: build and maintain models to track P&L/key metrics, coordinating cross-functionally to interpret findings, identify opportunities and communicate recommendations to executives
• Manage and negotiate with third party carriers (small parcel and LTL) to continue to evolve strategic partnerships in logistics

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years of total experience; 2-3 years in management consulting, finance or similar analytical role a plus
• Previous experience in ecommerce fulfillment, retail transportation or general supply chain operations
• Demonstrated ability of managing operational details and execution, while also understanding big picture
• Experience with quantitative analysis and modeling, creative problem solving, and complex cross-functional project management
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments, bring structure, prioritize and drive to results
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills, comfort in Google Suite tools
