Stride, Inc. seeks a Head of Technology to lead Tallo's engineering and technology org, directing software engineering and QA teams, and shaping architecture and AI initiatives aligned to Engagement, Outcomes, and Growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the CEO and partnering across Product, Data, Marketing, and leadership. The role emphasizes building durable systems, setting engineering standards, and driving delivery against the product roadmap while ensuring safety, security,

Qualifications

• Deep experience in software engineering and senior leadership of multi‑team organizations.
• Proven ability to hire and develop engineering managers and staff engineers.
• Strong background in modern cloud-based architectures, DevOps, and distributed systems.
• Track record of delivering customer-facing capabilities, including data-driven or AI-enabled features.
• Ownership mindset for technology safety, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Take over and develop an existing engineering team, building durable systems and clear growth paths.
• Define and evolve the engineering organization structure and leadership expectations.
• Set standards for engineering quality, ownership, and accountability at all levels.
• Own core engineering practices: sprint cadence, code reviews, release processes, and QA.
• Balance feature work with maintenance, tech debt, and platform improvements.
• Lead cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Data, Marketing, and Leadership.
• Partner with data science on data architecture, analytics, and ML initiatives.
• Communicate progress and risks to executives and stakeholders.
