Up Top Group in San Francisco is seeking a Head of Talent to recruit exceptional engineers, product leaders, and GTM experts while maintaining a very high hiring bar. You will own the full talent function from role definition to onboarding.

The role emphasizes lean growth, thoughtful evaluation beyond résumés, and building scalable processes. You will partner with founders and team leads to define requirements and interview criteria in a fast-moving startup context.

This frontier AI company builds infrastructure for reinforcement-learning training data and evaluations for advanced AI agents, alongside a marketplace connecting specialized data with leading AI labs. The platform serves frontier labs, major enterprises, and startups. The company is well funded, growing rapidly, and intentionally building a small, elite team.

THE ROLE

The company is hiring a Head of Talent to recruit exceptional engineers, product talent, and GTM leaders while preserving an unusually high hiring bar. The business expects to remain lean even at scale, so every hire carries significant weight.

You will own the full talent function: role definition, sourcing, evaluation, recruiting operations, candidate closing, onboarding, and the foundations of performance and leveling.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own end-to-end recruiting across technical and GTM roles.
• Build and optimize recruiting operations and tooling, automating workflows wherever it improves speed and quality.
• Partner directly with founders and team leads to define role requirements, evaluation criteria, and interview processes.
• Develop enough product depth to pitch highly technical candidates credibly.
• Source exceptional people through high-signal and unconventional channels.
• Assess technical competence, product intuition, and overall talent quality.
• Support onboarding and new-hire ramp.
• Help design performance reviews, leveling, and feedback systems.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience hiring engineering, product, and GTM talent.
• Strong judgment when evaluating portfolios, projects, and nontraditional evidence—not only résumés.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts credibly.
• Excellent organization across multiple roles and parallel pipelines.
• Strong instincts for talent quality and bar-setting.
• Early-stage startup experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.

LOGISTICS

• Full-time.
• San Francisco office only.
• Relocation and visa support available for strong full-time candidates.
