Job summary

Lumicity, a well-funded, early-stage company applying AI to robotics and physical systems, is seeking a technical recruiter. You’ll be among the first on the recruiting team, working directly with the founders and engineering leaders to own the hiring funnel from first conversation to signed offer.

You’ll source and screen engineers across robotics, ML, and embedded systems; sell the mission to candidates; manage scheduling, feedback, and offers; and track key metrics to continuously improve.

Qualifications

• 1.5–4 years of technical recruiting experience, ideally at an early-stage startup or strong tech company.
• Degree in biology, economics, CS, or similar field to converse with engineers.
• Strong communication and personable on candidate calls.
• Organized and reliable with a busy pipeline.

Responsibilities

A well-funded, early-stage company applying AI to robotics and physical systems. The founding team has built and scaled companies before, and the group is small, sharp, and growing quickly.

This is a chance to join early and help shape how the team is built.

The role

You’d be one of the first people on the recruiting team, owning the engineering hiring funnel from first conversation to signed offer. You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering leaders, with room to grow into a bigger role as the company scales.

What you’ll do

• Source and engage high-caliber engineers in robotics, ML, and embedded systems, including passive candidates
• Run first-round screens and do a basic technical evaluation before candidates reach the engineers
• Sell the company and the mission to candidates, and close them
• Manage the full process, including scheduling, feedback, and offers
• Track pipeline metrics such as response rates, time to fill, and offer acceptance, and use them to improve
• Partner with engineering to define what great looks like for each role

What we’re looking for

• 1.5 to 4 years of technical recruiting experience, ideally at an early-stage startup or a strong tech company. You’ve closed engineers before and can point to results
• A technical background, such as a degree in biology, economics, CS, or a similar field, that lets you hold a real conversation with engineers
• Strong communication. You’re personable, you present well, and candidates leave the call excited
• Organized and reliable. You keep a busy pipeline moving without dropped balls
• Smart and curious, with a track record of learning quickly. A strong academic background is a plus
• Comfortable in an ambiguous startup environment, with a real interest in growing the function over time

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting for robotics, AI/ML, or hardware roles
• Experience in an agency or in-house role at a fast-growing startup

• $100k to $150k base, plus early-stage equity
