Job summary

Oberlin College is seeking a Director of Student Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs. The role leads the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement and shapes the overall student organization engagement strategy to promote student learning, success, and retention.

The Director provides guidance on chartering, funding decisions, leadership retreats, and advisor training, while collaborating across campus to support diverse student organizations and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Student Affairs Administration, Counseling, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in Student Affairs and campus programming.
• Experience advising student organizations on a college campus.
• Experience supervising both professional staff and student staff.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple large projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement and develop the student engagement strategy.
• Advise student organizations through chartering, funding, and leadership training.
• Oversee budgeting, event contracts, and staff supervision.
• Coordinate professional development for student organizations and advisors.
• Represent student organizations on campus committees and at events.
