Job summary

Oberlin College is seeking a Director of Student Engagement to lead the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement and to drive the overall student organization engagement strategy with the goal of student learning, success, and retention.

The role oversees chartering, training, and advising for student organizations, manages budgets, and collaborates with campus partners to support a vibrant student life on campus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Counseling, or related field.
• Five+ years of progressive experience in Student Affairs, campus programming, and student organizations.
• Experience advising student organizations on a college campus.
• Experience supervising professional staff and student staff.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task on several large projects simultaneously.
• Experience with budget management and financial systems.
• Experience with large-scale event planning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the chartering process for student organizations.
• Advise the Student Finance Committee funding process.
• Lead Student Organization Leadership Retreats and trainings.
• Supervise and train student employees and advisors.
• Maintain the online resource guide and handbook for student organizations.
• Collaborate on campus events with the Division of Student Affairs.
