Job summary

Ascot Group seeks a Head of Specialty Exposure Management to lead a team responsible for non-natural catastrophe modelling, portfolio analytics, and regulatory reporting. You will collaborate with underwriting to optimize capacity and ensure data quality across all risk classes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in quantitative, actuarial, scientific, engineering, risk management or related discipline preferred.
• 10+ years of catastrophe modelling, exposure management, or portfolio analytics experience.
• Experience with Specialty lines: Casualty, Professional Lines, Crisis Management, Marine, and other non-natural catastrophe classes.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams while influencing senior stakeholders.
• Deep technical knowledge of non-natural catastrophe exposure management techniques; vendor/internal models preferred.
• Strong proficiency with exposure management, data, and analytics systems, including SQL and related tools.
• Strong understanding of non-natural catastrophe product lines, market dynamics, and emerging trends.
• Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deliverables.
• Understanding of risk governance frameworks and underwriting risk considerations.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and clearly communicate model outputs and portfolio insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong numerical, data handling, and analytical skills; relevant degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of AI, machine learning, predictive analytics in insurance and risk decisioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ascot’s View of Risk for non-natural catastrophe classes across lines of business.
• Lead the Exposure Management team in daily activities including modelling and portfolio production.
• Partner with underwriting to optimize exposure capacity on a risk-adjusted basis.
• Manage relationships with outsourcing data partners to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Establish and improve data standards to support high-quality analysis and reporting.
• Own completeness and integrity of exposure data, modelling outputs, and portfolio results.
• Present exposure and modelled loss positions to committees and senior stakeholders with clear insights.
• Lead regulatory reporting in collaboration with underwriting and management.
• Contribute to enhancement of exposure management tools and workflows.
• Expand advanced analytics capabilities to strengthen portfolio insights.
