Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Manager for Spacecraft Actuators to own the design, analysis, implementation, operation, sustainment, and improvement of actuator systems across multiple spacecraft.

You will lead a fast-paced, agile team, drive roadmaps with partner teams, and ensure flight-quality development from concept to deployment, including test campaigns and integration.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, space hardware experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related field.
• Proven experience developing, testing, and flying actuators in space as a technical individual contributor.
• Professional experience managing and growing a team.
• Master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering (preferred).
• 4+ years in lead roles on spacecraft actuators design and development.
• Ownership of the technical development of an actuator through its full design cycle.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers working on actuators across multiple spacecraft and functions.
• Determine product roadmap of the actuators by partnering with teams and leadership.
• Architect and implement engineering processes to streamline actuator development, test, and sustainment.
• Create and execute test campaigns.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to deliver flight-ready components.
• Direct technical ownership and IC work of an actuator.
