Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking an experienced engineer to own mechanical systems for multiple spacecraft missions from proposal to flight. You’ll lead mission design reviews, verify requirements, and coordinate with customers and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enable a higher mission cadence.

The role requires a strong background in spacecraft systems, CAD, GD&T, and FEA, with preferred expertise in NX, Teamcenter, Ansys, and FEMAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems for spacecraft or similar vehicles.
• Familiarity with spacecraft systems, materials, CAD, assembly management, GD&T, and analysis tools.
• Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical systems engineering for multiple spacecraft missions from proposal through flight.
• Lead mission design reviews and verify requirements with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and improve workflows to support higher mission cadence.
