Substack is building a new engine for culture. We seek a Head of Social to own our external channels and turn social into a driver of discovery, creator growth, and cultural credibility.

This leadership role will set vision, hire and develop a small team, and stay close to the work each day. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with fluency across platforms, defining our social vision and platform strategy to support writer growth and reader acquisition.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in social media or related field.
• Exceptional ability to grow audiences and craft a distinct voice.
• Strong editorial sense and quick, high-quality writing.
• Deep knowledge of how short-form video and text-first feeds work.
• Data-driven mindset with ability to test and optimize.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for brand voice.
• Genuine interest in independent media and creator culture.

• Lead the social team: hire, manage, and grow a multidisciplinary group.
• Turn brand positioning into a consistent point of view across daily posts.
• Build and execute large social moments aligned with brand campaigns.
• Develop rapid response systems to move fast on relevant stories.
• Spotlight writers, podcasters, and creators who define Substack.
• Turn product launches into stories for social platforms and measure impact.
