Substack is seeking a Head of Social to own how we appear on external social channels and to turn social into a driver of consumer discovery, creator growth, and cultural credibility. You will define Substack’s social vision, hire and develop a small team, and stay close to the work to shape what ships each day.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in social media, strong editorial instincts, and a data-lled approach to building audience across platforms.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in social media
• 3+ years leading teams ideally at media/publishing/creator-economy/consumer tech
• Exceptional audience building and growing an online presence
• Strong editorial instincts and fast, high-quality drafting
• Fluency across platforms from short-form video to text-first feeds
• Data-literate: set goals, test, report, and adjust strategy
• Exceptional writer and communicator with a clear brand voice
• Genuine interest in independent media and Substack culture

Aufgaben

• Lead the social team; hire, manage, and develop a multidisciplinary group
• Turn brand positioning into a consistent point of view across daily posts
• Build rapid response systems to move fast on relevant stories
• Spotlight writers, podcasters, and video creators who define Substack
• Turn launches and features into social stories with product growth
• Define metrics and report progress to leadership using data and insights
