Wholesale/Retail funding at Wayflyer:
Wayflyer began funding U.S. companies that sell to retailers and distributors in 2023 because of the significant TAM and opportunity available to us.
Wholesale/Retail is a fast-growing area for Wayflyer and we are looking for an ambitious Manager to take our underwriting of these customers to the next level in 2025.
What you’ll do
Be responsible for the success of Wholesale/Retail underwriting in Wayflyer!
Make the credit decisions in Wholesale/Retail lending and own the performance of this portfolio, ensuring accurate and consistent evaluation of creditworthiness.
Mentor a high-performing analyst team, fostering development and delivering quality analysis for sound credit decisions.
Drive the evolution of Wayflyer’s Wholesale/Retail underwriting, making efficiencies in our processes and improvements to our credit policies.
Oversee the management of the existing loan portfolio, developing advanced portfolio management strategies and proactively identifying high-risk scenarios.
Shape and execute product and pricing strategies, structuring deals that align with business objectives and market conditions.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Essential:
5+ years of relevant work experience - in one (or several) of the following:
an investment/lending role at a bank or fund focusing on asset-based lending / PO financing / invoice discounting / recourse factoring.
a large accounting/auditing firm working with retail/wholesale clients.
in the finance team of a retail/wholesale business.
A deep understanding of the Retail/Wholesale industry in the United States and how it interacts with the credit markets is essential.
Ability to analyse and understand financial reporting (e.g. management accounts / financial models) presented by companies.
Being very comfortable leading regular internal and external (client) meetings and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Stakeholders.
Preferred, but not essential:
Experience underwriting or auditing asset-based loans, term loans, factoring facilities, merchant cash advances, credit cards, or other loan products.
Experience in managing people.
CPA/CFA qualification.

The salary range for this role is circa $130-155K.
