Who You'll Be Joining:

ecobee is looking for a Senior National Account Manager, Retail, to join our Revenue organization. At ecobee we're passionate about building world-class products and services that improve everyday life, while also creating a more sustainable world.

In this role, you'll report to the Sr. Director, Retail Sales and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product) to develop and execute Retail channel strategies that align with our mission for a sustainable future. You’ll represent ecobee with external organizations at an executive level and collaborate with internal leadership to maintain and grow some of our most integral retail partnerships.

This role is open to being 100% remote within North America, although our home office is in Toronto, Ontario. You may be required to travel to Toronto, Canada once per quarter for team and/or company events in addition to partner meetings.

This job can be done remotely. However, given the geographical HQ location of both Best Buy and Target, Minneapolis is preferred.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Lead and grow some of North America’s most important retail partners’ businesses, including Best Buy and Target. Craft, own and execute comprehensive account plans that span both in-store and online.
  • Drive collaboration between partner and ecobee teams to identify and execute on mutual growth opportunities. This includes channel marketing, training/education, finance, and operations. We are seeking an entrepreneurial contributor with a Challenger Sales mindset; someone who leads with insights, matches needs with solutions, and continually pushes boundaries to achieve mutual success.
  • Work with your partners to set and achieve quarterly and annual OKRs. Host internal and external MBRs/QBRs to drive accountability.
  • Your contributions will extend far beyond mere sales figures. You'll shape the narrative of our partnerships, advocating for the voice of the customer internally, and ensuring ecobee remains at the forefront of the connected home space. From developing Joint Business Plans to negotiating trade funds, your analytical prowess and strategic acumen will be instrumental in driving our growth trajectory.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • 5+ years of retail sales leadership experience with North American omnichannel retail partners such as Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc.
  • Proficiency in developing retail channel account strategies to help achieve market share growth (e.g., partner negotiations, promotional planning, channel marketing, merchandising, training, etc).
  • Strong business and financial acumen (e.g., understand P&L levers, ROI, IRR, and know how to justify the investments we’re making to support and grow our customers).
  • Industry expertise with Retail and Consumer Electronics. Experience with SAAS subscription-based product offerings is a plus.
  • You have a degree in Business; an MBA would be an asset.
  • You have strong collaboration and teamwork skills and can work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data and numbers driven; you have experience with forecasting and P&L management.
  • You take initiative, follow-through, and are detail-oriented.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills; you are comfortable presenting and influencing people and processes.
  • This role may require up to 25% travel.

  • Round 1: 30-minute phone call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team.
  • Round 2: 1-hour interviews with Sr Director of Sales.
  • Round 3: 1-hour interviews with cross-functional panel of key internal stakeholders.
  • Round 4: Final interview involving a case study sent in advance, where you'll present to the entire panel.
