Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Reliability Engineering Leader to own the reliability strategy, lead a growing team of reliability engineers, and ensure robust testing across the product lifecycle. You will partner with Product Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing to drive reliable, scalable hardware solutions.

The role requires a deep background in FMEA, HALT, RCA/CAPA, and cross-functional leadership in a hardware environment, with strong communication to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of reliability, test, or quality engineering experience in mechanical/electrical/electromechanical systems.
• 3+ years in formal people-management roles.
• Experience building or scaling reliability or test teams in hardware/manufacturing.
• Deep hands-on experience with FMEA, HALT, root-cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Strong communication and ability to present risk to executives.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead reliability testing including mechanical stress, shock, vibration, and environmental tests.
• Build, lead, and grow a reliability team with hiring plans and career development paths.
• Own reliability roadmap across design, development, and manufacturing lifecycles.
• Define reliability metrics (MTBF, failure trends) and report risk to leadership.
• Guide cross-functional teams on design decisions with reliability considerations.
