Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Director of Red Team to lead offensive security operations, mentor engineers, and align red team testing with business risk. You will manage internal red team, vendor engagements, and ensure testing delivers actionable improvements.

This senior role requires deep MITRE ATT&CK knowledge, excellent communication with executives, and ability to scale programs across complex environments, cloud and on-prem, with focus on enterprise resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in cybersecurity with at least 6 years in offensive security (red team, adversary emulation, or exploit development).
• 3+ years leading offensive security teams or programs at enterprise scale.
• Experience planning and leading red team operations against monitored environments.
• Strong command of adversary tradecraft and how EDR, identity protection, and cloud logging observe activity.
• Fluency with MITRE ATT&CK and threat intelligence; translate actor behavior into emulation plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of briefing executives credibly.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mature the Red Team strategy aligned to business risks.
• Enforce Rules of Engagement and safety controls for simulations.
• Lead a team of red team engineers and offensive security operators.
• Balance resources between campaigns, assessments, and tooling development.
• Manage third-party offensive security providers and ensure quality findings.
• Integrate third-party findings into internal reporting and remediation processes.
• Collaborate with detection, threat intel, and security engineering to improve controls.
• Translate exploit chains into risk narratives for leadership.
