Job summary

Cerity Partners' Norfolk wealth management practice seeks a Director of Investments & Equity Management to lead the investment function for roughly $4 billion in client assets. This senior role oversees a quantitative equity model with a fundamental overlay and mentors the investment team.

The director will coordinate with the Investment Committee, implement the model across thousands of accounts with tax‑sensitive adjustments, and communicate strategy and performance to senior professionals,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing equity portfolios.
• Experience running quantitative equity models with a fundamental overlay.
• Ability to apply client-specific adjustments across a large book of accounts.
• Strong understanding of tax-sensitive portfolio management (cost basis, tax-loss harvesting).
• Experience mentoring an investment team.
• Ability to coordinate strategy with an Investment Committee.
• Bachelor's degree in finance/economics/business; CFA designation required; advanced degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with various constituents.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee investment management for the Norfolk practice's ~ $4B AUM.
• Develop, mentor, and lead the investment team.
• Align investment strategies with the firm's Investment Committee.
• Maintain active management of a quantitative equity model.
• Implement the model across thousands of client accounts with adjustments.
• Apply tax-sensitive judgement to model implementation and client constraints.
• Communicate strategy and portfolio positioning to senior professionals.
• Partner with the advisor community to translate strategy into client guidance.
• Present updates and portfolio positioning to colleagues.
• Engage directly with clients about strategy and performance.
• Monitor markets, model performance, and portfolio risk.
