Condé Nast is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Publishing Platform in New York. The role leads a globally distributed team responsible for CMS, rights, editorial planning, and content APIs across brands and sites.

You will set technical direction with principal engineers, own the platform roadmap, and partner with product, design and editorial teams to deliver scalable, AI-native publishing experiences for our world-renowned brands.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading and growing engineering teams accountable for delivery and quality.
  • Experience owning content management or publishing platforms.
  • Led distributed teams across locations and time zones.
  • Ability to review designs and code and mentor engineers.
  • Strong architectural judgment for content systems and APIs.
  • Proven collaboration with product, design and editorial partners.
  • Experience driving AI-native workflows in production environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global engineering teams across CMS, rights, planning, and APIs.
  • Set platform roadmap with product and editorial stakeholders; manage architectural direction.
  • Foster strong partnerships with editorial, product, and brand teams.
