The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library seeks a collaborative Head of Public Services to oversee public service operations, user experience, and technology-enabled learning spaces.

This senior leadership role oversees a diverse team, shapes service standards, and drives innovative resources across libraries within the AUC system. MLIS is required with experience in academic libraries.

Qualifications

• MLIS or related advanced degree from an ALA-accredited program.
• 3–5 years in academic library settings or learning commons.
• Experience leading public services and supervising professional staff.
• Experience developing customer service models and user experience strategies.
• Experience managing technology-rich learning environments and digital spaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for public services and the User Experience Team.
• Oversee Tech Design Studio, AV labs, and creative spaces.
• Develop staffing models, workflows, and service standards.
• Align public services with academic engagement strategies and student success.
• Maintain public technology resources and software suites across spaces.
