Job summary

IDEX Corporation seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the Akron Brass product engineering function. You will design and re‑engineer products, support manufacturing, and drive cost efficiencies while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

The role calls for cross‑functional collaboration and budget stewardship. Your background should include 5+ years in engineering leadership, strong GD&T/3D CAD/FEA skills, and experience with CFD and multi‑disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of engineering or product development experience.
• 3+ years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Engineering team; serve as the organization’s product design expert.
• Oversee engineering for new and existing products to meet customer, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Support manufacturing and operations with timely engineering solutions.
• Improve engineering processes for efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical specifications, ISO 9001:2015, and the Akron Brass Quality Manual.
• Manage shifting priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on new product introduction and manufacturing readiness.
• Plan and manage the Engineering budget and resource allocation.
• Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate critical quality, compliance, supply, and safety risks to leadership.
