Job summary

Beacon Biosignals seeks a Director of Product Design to lead a three-person design team and shape the function as the company scales. The role blends hands-on design with strategic leadership, guiding hardware, mobile apps, and web experiences while partnering with engineering, clinical operations, and logistics.

You'll own the design vision, build scalable systems, and ensure rigorous usability in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience.
• 4+ years of managing and developing designers.
• Portfolio spans hardware and software experiences.
• Experience in medical device space, clinical diagnostics, or related fields.
• Familiarity with usability engineering and design controls (IEC 62366, FDA guidance).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of three senior product designers.
• Define and execute a vision for product design at Beacon.
• Balance hands-on work with strategic leadership in early years.
• Own prioritization across hardware, mobile, web, and print surfaces.
