Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead a three-person senior design team and shape how design intersects hardware, apps, and clinical platforms. You will set the vision, mentor designers, and partner with engineering, clinical operations, logistics, and quality to ensure design excellence across devices and software.

You will stay hands-on to model best practices, drive the headcount plan and budget, and guide design for regulated devices in a fast-scaling environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience.
• 4+ years managing and developing designers.
• Portfolio spanning hardware and software experiences.
• Experience in medical device space or regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of three senior product designers and help them grow.
• Define and execute a vision for product design at Beacon and plan growth with the business.
• Work as a player-coach, doing hands-on design when needed to set the standard.
• Own prioritization across design surface areas including hardware, mobile, web, print, and processes.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with Device Engineering, Platform, Clinical Operations, Logistics, Support and Quality.
• Establish scalable design processes, standards, and reusable patterns across products.
• Ensure rigorous usability work for regulated devices with Quality and Regulatory.
