• Significant product management leadership experience with ownership of strategy, execution, launch, and long-term performance.
• Proven success delivering customer-facing products or major product portfolios, including difficult prioritization and investment decisions.
• Strong skills in customer discovery, market analysis, business strategy, data-driven decision-making, and executive communication.
• Technical proficiency to partner with engineering on APIs, data platforms, AI initiatives, system integrations, and legacy technology considerations.

A growing software and technology organization serving the public sector is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Product to lead product direction across a diverse portfolio of solutions supporting government and community service operations. This leader will bridge the needs of public-sector users, organizational stakeholders, and constituents with emerging market trends, business opportunities, and technological innovation.

The Head of Product will be responsible for establishing product investment priorities, guiding portfolio strategy, and ensuring products deliver measurable value to customers and end users. The ideal candidate brings deep product management expertise, a history of driving successful product adoption at scale, strong business acumen, and the ability to quickly develop expertise in complex operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a unified product strategy across existing product lines, modernization initiatives, and emerging market opportunities.
• Evaluate opportunities for shared capabilities across products while balancing unique customer, regulatory, contractual, or market-specific requirements.
• Build a comprehensive understanding of customers, end users, administrators, decision-makers, partners, and other stakeholders impacted by supported services.
• Leverage customer insights, market research, product analytics, and commercial data to inform strategic decisions and validate assumptions.
• Lead product discovery efforts, roadmap planning, go-to-market readiness, pricing and packaging recommendations, user adoption initiatives, and lifecycle management activities.
• Establish performance measures and success criteria for products, including customer value, engagement, retention, service effectiveness, and financial outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Platform teams to develop scalable, API-driven capabilities that support both legacy and next-generation solutions.
• Assess and guide AI-driven product opportunities with appropriate focus on user trust, governance, data stewardship, measurable outcomes, and workflow improvement.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop product management talent while elevating product excellence and cross-functional decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Significant product management leadership experience with demonstrated ownership of product strategy, execution, launch, and long-term performance.
• Proven success delivering customer-facing products or major product portfolios, including making difficult prioritization and investment decisions.
• Strong skills in customer discovery, market analysis, business strategy, data-driven decision-making, and executive communication.
• Technical proficiency sufficient to partner effectively with engineering and architecture teams on APIs, data platforms, AI initiatives, system integrations, and legacy technology considerations.
• Experience managing multiple products or product portfolios rather than a single roadmap.
• Ability to succeed in complex stakeholder environments involving extended buying cycles, diverse customer needs, and long-term client relationships.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within government technology, regulated industries, civic services, public administration, or other complex organizational environments.
• Familiarity with public-sector procurement processes, implementation challenges, and solutions that serve both internal staff and external constituents is beneficial but not required.
