Job summary

Atlantic Group, a large private equity fund in Midtown Manhattan near Port Authority, seeks a Head of Management Company accounting to lead the finance function across multiple entities. The role requires deep experience in fund accounting, strong leadership, and the ability to partner with senior executives.

You will own budgeting, forecasting, audit processes, and the evolution of internal controls, with a focus on scalability and efficiency. This position is based in New York City.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of management experience in funds, private equity, hedge, or venture.
• Lead accounting across multiple management companies with monthly/quarterly closes.
• Partner with CFO/CEO and senior leaders on performance metrics.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and partner distributions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Oversee financial statements, reconciliations, expenses, intercompany activity.
• Serve as primary accounting partner to CFO/CEO and leadership.
• Drive accounting infrastructure, controls, reporting, and automation.
• Own annual budgeting and forecasting for management companies.
• Manage partner profit allocations, distributions, and capital activity.
• Coordinate with tax professionals on tax matters.
• Lead annual financial statement audits with external auditors.
• Perform complex financial analysis and strategic projects.
• Evaluate operating model and scalability; manage third-party providers.
• Manage relationships with outsourced accounting, tax, payroll, valuation, and consulting.
