Representing a leading digital media and subscription-based content organization, we are proud to be leading the search for a Head of Privacy. This newly created role will lead global privacy, cybersecurity, consumer compliance, and data governance strategy across a complex, data-driven business.

As the Head of Privacy, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the company’s global privacy compliance program, providing legal and strategic guidance on data collection, use, transfer, retention, and governance.
- Advising senior leadership, product, engineering, marketing, subscription, technology, and security teams on privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, and data governance matters.
- Driving continuous improvement in privacy program maturity, risk management frameworks, incident readiness, vendor governance, and compliance processes.
- Developing and maintaining privacy policies, standards, consumer-facing terms, acceptable use policies, and related governance documentation.
- Overseeing privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, audits, corrective action plans, and privacy compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Providing legal guidance on digital advertising, ad technology, identity resolution, data clean rooms, marketing technologies, and third-party data partnerships.
- Negotiating and advising on data protection agreements, security provisions, vendor risk assessments, and commercial arrangements involving personal data.
- Advising on consumer marketing, subscription, auto-renewal, online safety, and related regulatory requirements in domestic and international markets.
- Serving as the legal lead for cybersecurity incident response, working closely with information security leadership and key stakeholders.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and advising on emerging privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, online safety, and consumer protection requirements.
- Managing and developing a team of legal and compliance professionals while partnering with external counsel and regulatory authorities where required.
To be successful in this role our client is looking for a:
- Juris Doctor and active U.S. bar membership, ideally licensed in New York.
- 15+ years of experience advising on U.S. and international privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and consumer compliance matters.
- Proven experience building, enhancing, and managing enterprise privacy programs within complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of global privacy regulations, online safety requirements, consumer protection laws, marketing compliance, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience supporting digital products, subscription businesses, advertising technology, data-driven marketing, and technology-enabled platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise negotiating data protection agreements and advising on third-party risk management.
- Experience leading security incident response efforts and collaborating closely with technology and information security teams.
- At least 5 years of people leadership experience with a track record of managing high-performing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Prior in-house legal experience within a technology, media, digital platform, subscription, or consumer-facing organization.
- A commercially minded and pragmatic legal leader with excellent judgment, executive presence, and communication skills.
