OHLA USA is seeking a Chief Estimator/Director of Preconstruction to oversee all estimating and preconstruction activities for vertical building projects. You will lead teams, coordinate with clients, and develop winning strategies for negotiated and hard-bid opportunities.

This leadership role emphasizes cost discipline, risk management, and collaboration with executive teams to achieve profitable project pipelines. A senior professional with deep industry knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive estimating and preconstruction experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success managing estimates for large-scale vertical building projects with profitability focus.
• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, scheduling, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for clients and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and preconstruction team across multiple projects and pursuits to ensure cost-effective execution.
• Mentor and develop Estimators and Preconstruction Managers to strengthen technical and commercial skills.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align performance with financial goals and risk standards.
• Oversee conceptual to detailed cost estimates for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects with margin focus.
• Lead bid reviews, subcontractor analysis, and pricing strategy to maintain healthy margins.
