Job description

Every great product deserves a film that's just as good. You'll make sure ours are.

Represent makes launch films for tech companies, from YC startups to Series B teams. We turn complex products into stories people understand and want to watch.

You'll lead post-production: keep projects moving, make editors better, and review every cut before a client sees it. This is a leadership role, not an “editing” role.

We are looking for a person who has done editing at the world-class level and is now looking to scale their expertise and lead others to do the same.

Your responsibilities
  • Projects: Take over from producers and run post end to end: edit, color, sound and motion. Producers stay the client contact, so your focus is the work and the team.
  • People: Brief editors and colorists, plan workloads, and find and develop new editors.
  • Quality: Review every cut. Give specific notes on story, pacing, color and sound.
  • Pipeline: Keep project files, delivery specs, QC and handoffs clear and consistent.

About 80% of your time goes to leading. You'll still edit the rest, and mostly you'll make everyone else's edits better.

Your skill set
  • 5+ years in hands-on post-production (video editing, sound design, basic color correction, motion)
  • 2+ years leadership experience (specifically managing editors) and owning schedules and reviews
  • You've done the editing work yourself at an exceptional level. Lead by example. A strong editing portfolio and an eye for what makes a cut work.
  • Enough color, sound and motion knowledge to brief specialists and judge their work.
  • Ability to write clear written briefs and feedback, and fluent English
  • The confidence to make decisions and flag problems before deadlines slip

You've led editors before. Your briefs are clear enough that editors can start without a call, and your notes make their next cut better too. You can watch 40 minutes of footage and find the 90 seconds that matter. You can explain why a hook lands too late or a scene drags, and help the editor fix it.

Why Represent
  • A real leadership role: you build the post team and pipeline from scratch, not inherit someone else's
  • Leadership experience in “AI years”: we put you on an accelerated track to become a genuinely strong leader
  • Real ownership: you make your own decisions, own your budgets and solve problems without micromanagement
  • The work itself: we work with world‑class tech companies (the ones you know and use!)
Logistics
  • Full-time, fully remote
  • Home office, software and learning budgets
  • Direct feedback from people who care about the work
