Day & Zimmermann Company is seeking an experienced Department Manager, Mechanical & Process, to lead the Piping Department within a broad EPCm and chemical process context. You will guide a team of piping engineers and designers, align resources, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions while emphasizing safety and collaboration.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and a PE license, with 15+ years in EPCm or related chemical sectors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; advanced degrees valued.
PE licensure mandatory; enables regulatory compliance and design responsibility.
15+ years of progressive EPCm or chemical process industry experience.
Experience with 3D modeling in Autodesk Plant 3D and laser scanning.
Knowledge of pipe stress analysis desirable (Caesar II).

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate departmental resources, manpower, tools, budgets for multi-project delivery.
Ensure engineering outputs comply with policies, client requirements, and codes; uphold safety and quality.
Develop staffing plans to maximize productivity and project utilization.
Lead professional growth through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
Conduct performance evaluations and manage compensation considerations.
Meet discipline cost management, scheduling, and quality control objectives for all projects.
Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans for growth and client satisfaction.
Drive process improvements and safety practices to maintain competitive edge.
