Job summary

Stellarus Technology is seeking a Director of Performance Engineering and Test Automation to define and scale automated performance validation across the platform. You will partner with developers to set standards, tooling, and expectations for how services are designed, tested, and operated with AI-assisted enhancements.

The role emphasizes building repeatable pipelines, synthetic monitoring, and production readiness, while leading teams through change and continuous learning in a hybrid office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of software or performance engineering experience.
• 6 years leading teams or technical programs focused on performance, test automation, reliability, or production readiness.
• Hands-on experience building automated test systems, load testing frameworks, and performance pipelines.
• Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native apps.
• Understand latency, throughput, concurrency, caching, and production failure modes.
• Experience with KPI reporting and gap analysis in production systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and CI/CD quality gates.
• Strong communication skills to translate findings into engineering actions.
• Knowledge of healthcare or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and own performance testing strategy, tooling, and release gates across the platform.
• Collaborate with engineering to establish standards, patterns, and expectations for test automation.
• Build and maintain automated test systems and performance pipelines.
• Model synthetic workloads and production-like environments for reliable validation.
• Lead cross-functional teams to improve observability and production readiness.
