JOB DESCRIPTION

The Video Power team is looking for a results-driven and detail-oriented Head of Operations, with a proven track record working with creative teams and agencies. The Head of Operations is responsible for optimizing the team's day-to-day execution across the business. They design and implement company infrastructure & processes to boost productivity & efficiency, while reducing friction and mitigating/preventing day-to-day fires.

The Head of Operations' goal is to make the company operate as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The Head of Operations leads major company initiatives/projects, and holds the team accountable to completing them. The application code word is EMPOWER. The Head of Operations is a highly skilled strategic thinker. They anticipate and solve problems in a self-directed way. They empower and build a team around them to move fast while maintaining culture & quality.

This role will lead Video Power through a chapter of rapid growth and transition, serving as a key leader who can transform the CEO's creative vision into executable systems and processes. The ideal candidate will balance strong leadership with respect for the existing team culture, introducing new efficiencies without disrupting the creative environment.

This is a W2 Full Time Position based in Salt Lake City Utah. Our hybrid model allows you to work from home, with monthly meet ups in Salt Lake. This is a critical position within the business, as such, we host a rigorous, 4-part application process.

RESPONSIBILITIES (TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ROLE):

  • This position will work very closely with the CEO to actualize the vision
  • Recruit, manage, promote, and train a team effectively. Manage evolving org chart and team culture to realize the company goals
  • Lead company through evolving team structure & systems to meet CEO’s standards for client satisfaction
  • Evolve communication infrastructure, facilitating meetings & systemizing team communication
  • Oversee client success & billing to ensure highest-quality client experience
  • Remove stress from the executive team as much as possible, including preparing visual company status reports
  • Redesign & optimize company systems as needed to maximize product fulfillment, quality, and scalability
  • Translate the CEO's creative vision into executable systems, SOPs, and processes
  • Build and implement internal dashboards and reporting systems for improved operational visibility
  • Lead change management initiatives with an established team that has operated the same way for years
  • Manage a blended team of 5 core department heads / staff members plus offshore resources and freelancers
  • Develop clear project plans and timelines for video production projects
  • Create and implement automation systems to improve operational efficiency
  • Balance maintaining creative excellence with operational efficiency
  • Build and nurture company culture while being prepared to have difficult conversations when needed

REQUIREMENTS (EXPECTED PROFICIENCIES):

  • Prior experience and knowledge of digital marketing, specifically creative video production, media buying & appointment setting, highly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Mindset & drive -- you hold yourself accountable to the highest standards of performance and are resilient in the face of obstacles or failure.
  • Adaptable – you thrive in fast-changing environments, facing new challenges & opportunities each day
  • Self-starter - - you are comfortable working in a remote first environment, managing your schedule, your team, and meeting deadlines without direct supervision.
  • Strong manager – you are fulfilled my building & leading a team, you pride yourself in your ability to encourage the best performance from people
  • Candid & direct communicator, with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
  • Highly resourceful, a natural problem-solver who loves learning new things.
  • Data-Driven – you are able to analyze data and make critical decisions based on the data collected.
  • Experience leading creative teams, preferably in a creative agency or video production environment
  • Proven ability to manage creative professionals without stifling their creativity
  • Familiarity with project management tools including Asana, Slack, and Go High Level (GHL)
  • Experience with creating automated workflows and operational systems
  • Background in multiple business areas (marketing, sales, production) to effectively communicate with specialized teams
  • Strong but diplomatic leadership style - ability to implement change without alienating team members
  • Experience developing and documenting SOPs and processes for creative workflows
  • Ability to understand video production processes (specific expertise not required, but ability to learn quickly is essential)
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in an integrator or operations leadership role
  • Experience managing small teams (5-10 people) in a creative industry
  • Ability to work Mountain Standard Time.
