Job summary

Chase Doors is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a custom manufacturing operation in Elk Grove Village. You will oversee production, engineering support, inventory management, safety, maintenance, quality, and workforce development in a hands-on leadership role.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in a custom or made-to-order manufacturing environment, strong production planning, scheduling, and capacity management skills, and a track record of driving efficiency and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years manufacturing leadership in a senior operations role.
• Experience in custom/engineered-to-order environments.
• Strong production planning, scheduling, and capacity management skills.
• Experience leading multiple departments through supervisors and team leads.
• Proven ability to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Experience implementing safety programs in manufacturing.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant operations with accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
• Direct multiple departments through supervisors and team leads.
• Translate customer requirements into achievable production schedules with Sales/Engineering/Production/Customer Service.
• Develop capacity planning strategies to meet production and shipping goals.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements for efficiency.
• Oversee scheduling, material planning, and inventory to ensure on-time delivery.
• Drive safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Establish KPIs and monitor productivity, quality, scrap, and labor efficiency.
• Manage maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.
• Collaborate on employee relations and organizational development initiatives.
• Prepare operational reports and forecasts for senior leadership.
