Jsr Associates in the Chicago area is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the manufacturing function for custom, engineered-to-order equipment.

You will own scheduling, labor planning, and flow across machining, assembly, and facilities, while guiding a move to a new Addison facility and expansion to two shifts.

The role demands hands-on leadership, strong Lean and ERP/MRP experience, and a track record of improving productivity, quality, and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 10+ years in manufacturing/ops leadership including planning, inventory, and workforce management.
• Strong Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP, and manufacturing financials.
• Experience leading small to mid-size shops (10–75 on the floor).

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations spanning machining, assembly, planning, inventory, logistics, and facilities.
• Own production scheduling and labor planning to meet customer commitments.
• Manage facility transition to two shifts with staffing and handoff processes.
• Drive Lean, 5S, Six Sigma and root-cause problem solving.
• Oversee departmental P&L, budgets, and capital investments to protect gross margin.
