Job summary

United Airlines is seeking a Senior Manager of Analytics in Chicago to turn data into insight across maintenance planning, supply chain, and operations. You will lead a 3-4 person analytics team, partner with business units to identify opportunities, and design KPI governance and data products that drive measurable results.

Responsibilities include translating analytics into executive-ready recommendations, driving dashboards, and collaborating with Digital Technology to activate data assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or related work experience
• 5+ years of experience in data science and/or analytics
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role
• Experience with exploratory data analyses, feature engineering, clustering, regressions, tree methods, supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, NLP, simulation, optimization, and other classification methods
• Expertise in at least one quantitative analysis package - Python or R
• Proficiency in SQL
• Data visualization with Spotfire, Tableau, ggplot2, etc.
• Strong ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis clearly to management
• Experience taking projects from exploration to completion
• Knowledge of generative AI tools and responsible AI use
• Willing to travel 5-10%

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 3-4 data analysts guiding modeling techniques and methodologies
• Partner with business teams to uncover quantitative opportunities and define use cases
• Translate strategy into analytics roadmaps and KPI governance
• Design KPIs and governance, data quality controls, and dashboard roadmaps
• Present analyses with executive-ready stories and recommendations
• Apply data analysis, data mining, optimization, ML to business problems
• Collaborate with Digital Technology to activate data assets and dashboards
• Promote best practices and cross-team collaboration
