Job summary

Head of Operations for an early-stage AI startup in San Francisco. You will own the operating playbook, building foundations across finance, compliance, contracts and internal processes.

You'll scale the team, craft customer-facing materials, and drive fundraising efforts with investor decks and data rooms while partnering directly with the founder to take ownership of the details and push the business forward.

An opportunity to build, not just operate.

I'm recruiting for a first Head of Operations hire at an early-stage AI startup.

This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and wants to help build a business from the ground up.

This isn't a role where you inherit a playbook. You'll help write it.

What you'll be doing:

• Build the operational foundations, from finance and compliance to contracts and internal processes.
• Help scale the team by developing talent pipelines and supporting recruitment.
• Create customer-facing materials that clearly communicate products and use cases.
• Support fundraising through investor decks, data rooms, and related materials.
• Work directly with the founder, taking ownership of the details so they can focus on the biggest opportunities.

Who might be a great fit?

Someone with 2-5 years' experience in startup operations or business operations, ideally with exposure to the systems and standards of a Series A-C business.

You're commercially minded, exceptionally reliable, and comfortable switching between the detail and the bigger picture. You don't wait for a detailed brief, you figure things out and get them done.

Experience in investment banking, consulting, venture capital, sales or product could also be relevant if you have the operational instincts and appetite to build.
