Job summary

BMO Financial Group seeks an experienced facilities engineer to lead operations for critical infrastructure across its real estate portfolio in Chicago. You will plan, maintain, and optimize electrical, mechanical, and building systems to ensure uptime and reliability.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration with finance and operations. A strong background in high-availability facilities and project management is required.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of relevant experience in electrical/ mechanical engineering for critical facilities.
• Experience in building infrastructure system design for high availability environments.
• Emergency response support and fire prevention expertise.
• Knowledge of data center environmental requirements and risk management.
• Experience with project documentation review and translating requirements into system solutions.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and budgets in facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk assessments by formulating test scenarios and analyzing results.
• Define business requirements for analytics and reporting to inform decisions.
• Plan and maintain reliable operation of integrated facility infrastructure (UPS, HVAC, generators, fire systems).
• Coordinate with internal and external teams and manage third-party providers.
• Drive change management programs and communication strategies across BMO.
• Provide input to annual investment plans for critical facilities.
