Qualifications

• 10–12 years prior experience as an IP attorney in a law firm, in-house, or both.
• Licensed attorney in a US state and registered to practice before the USPTO.
• JD – Law Degree required; BS in engineering/CS or related science.
• Experience with patent portfolio management and IP strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the North American IP & Patents team.
• Select, interview, hire, and train new IP team members.
• Assess patentability of inventions and scope of IP protection.
• Advise on IP strategy and coordinate with business units.
• Monitor third-party IP rights and advise on defensive measures.
• Coordinate licensing efforts with the global IP team and external counsel.
