Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Sr. Director of Machine Learning to lead the teams building AI services powering clinical intake, provider support, and personalization.

You will set technical direction for production services on foundation models and in-house models, growing a team of ML engineers and production specialists. You will collaborate with ML platform, evaluation, and clinical stakeholders to ensure safe, measurable, and continuously improving AI systems across the product and healthcare

Qualifications

• 14+ years of experience in machine learning and software engineering.
• Strong track record shipping ML-powered products to production at scale.
• Experience with modern LLM application development and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow ML engineers, applied scientists, and ML production engineers building AI services end to end.
• Own the strategy for building on frontier LLMs including prompt design and retrieval.
• Drive the design of harnesses around LLM calls for reliable outputs in product and clinical workflows.
• Direct development of in-house deep learning models for clinical and recommendation use cases.
• Set production standards: SLOs for accuracy, latency, and cost; responsible AI practices.
