Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. is seeking a senior Medical Information leader to oversee global information services. This remote, full-time role requires a Master’s degree in pharmacy or related science and 10+ years in biotech/pharma.

You will lead a team, set medical content strategy, and ensure compliant, high-quality responses. You will partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and others to align initiatives, support product launches, and manage vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Minimum of a Master's degree in pharmacy or related science. Advanced degree preferred.
• Healthcare professional license preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• People leadership, team management, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Medical Information colleagues, prioritizing workload and delivering high-quality services.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned therapeutic areas with in-depth knowledge.
• Develop, update, and maintain Medical Information resources and materials.
• Evaluate literature and guidelines to identify gaps and ensure accurate content.
• Own SOPs, work instructions, and documentation aligned with SMPA requirements.
• Oversee operational processes, governance, and logistics for compliant operations.
• Manage and train the Medical Information call center vendor and monitor performance.
• Coordinate readiness for product launches, lifecycle activities, and congresses.
• Provide Medical Information congress planning support and staff training.
• Participate in medical reviews of materials to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Quality, Pharmacovigilance, Commercial to align activities.
• Monitor metrics and trends to identify improvements and enhance customer experience.
