Job summary

Airbnb, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Media Foundation to lead a team responsible for the media infrastructure that powers photos, videos, and documents across the platform.

You will own reliability, scalability, and evolution of systems from ingestion to presentation. You will set the bar for engineering excellence, mentor managers and senior leads, and collaborate with Product, Design, Trust, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-impact media capabilities that users rely

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience with at least 6+ years in engineering management.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in CS or equivalent.
• Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems with cross-team strategy.
• Strong product instinct and communication with senior partners.
• Track record of leading cross-team initiatives with significant business impact.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion within teams.
• Sound judgment balancing short-term needs with long-term health.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and architecture for media infrastructure across multiple teams.
• Lead, coach, and grow managers and senior technical leads.
• Partner with Product, Design, Trust, and other infra orgs to shape a resilient media platform roadmap.
• Champion engineering excellence and operational rigor, addressing reliability and velocity debt.
• Retain, grow, and hire a diverse team to execute the media platform vision.
