Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a seasoned technical editor to own the Airbnb Tech Blog editorial engine. You will source topics, coach engineer-authors, edit to a high bar, and move posts through legal, security and comms reviews without stalling.

You will build cross-team narratives, develop public presence for engineers, manage distribution and external engagements, and partner with Talent Acquisition to connect content to hiring outcomes.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in technical content, developer relations, engineering communications or technical editorial — including time spent working directly with engineers.
• Technical fluency; you can discuss systems design, read design docs, and earn credibility with staff engineers.
• Editorial judgment and hands-on craft to refine drafts without suppressing the author's voice.
• Influence without authority; built systems and incentives to mobilize senior people.
• Program discipline; owned events, budgets and vendors end to end.
• Measurement literacy; connect brand work to funnel outcomes and attribution.
• Judgment on risk; navigated legal and security review and publication decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial engine. Run the Airbnb Tech Blog end to end: source topics, coach authors, edit to a high bar, and move posts through reviews without stalling.
• Find cross-team narratives by connecting work from multiple teams and publishing them as cohesive sets.
• Build our engineers' public presence through bylines, talks and speaker coaching, aligning with the CTO.
• Own distribution: establish a canonical home on an Airbnb domain and define social channels.
• Lead external presence: plan conference strategy, sponsorships, and academic collaborations.
• Steward open source presence and ensure Airbnb projects reflect our intended image.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to tie content outcomes to hiring impact.
