Overview:

The Head of Marketing at MMA Global is a high-impact leadership role responsible for advancing MMA’s thought leadership in order to support marketers to understand the importance and activation of the need for change. This is a mission for MMA, not just a job. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of driving brand repositioning, leading innovative content strategies, enhancing member engagement, and collaborating closely with the CEO to shape the future of marketing for at least large enterprise marketers. This is a very visible (and critical) marketing industry role. It requires a strong understanding of marketing and an eventual belief that marketing and marketers can be better (that’s what MMA does).

Key Responsibilities:

Content Strategy and Thought Leadership

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that translates complex marketing concepts into actionable insights for CMOs and enterprise marketers.
  • Create revolutionary thought leadership content (e.g., articles, whitepapers, webinars, reports) to position MMA Global as an industry leader.
  • Create a content ‘factory’ at the MMA to push into media and social
  • Ensure all content aligns with MMA Global’s mission of promoting science-driven and unbiased marketing insights.

Digital Marketing (Paid and Social)

  • Lead digital marketing initiatives in addition to paid digital and social campaigns that engage and reach our very select target audiences (major CMOs and CEO/CRO/CMOs of marketing solution companies) effectively.
  • Implement innovative, data-driven strategies to optimize campaign performance and distinguish MMA Global within the industry.

Strategic Partnership with the CEO

  • Collaborate with the CEO to align marketing strategies with organizational objectives and drive industry-impacting initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to foster alignment and collaboration.

Email Marketing

  • Lead email marketing capabilities and campaigns with a focus that engages and reach target audiences effectively.

Support the advancement of AI in marketing for MMA and for industry

  • Push the application of AI tools to MMA’s marketing aggressively.

Event Attendee Marketing

  • Drive attendee engagement and registrations for MMA Global events through strategic marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with event planning teams to highlight the unique value and innovation of MMA Global events.

Membership Engagement and CRM

  • Enhance member engagement through effective CRM strategies and targeted initiatives.
  • Leverage member data insights to improve satisfaction and tailor engagement efforts for current and prospective members.

Demand Generation and Sales Support

  • Partner with the sales team to create marketing initiatives that drive demand and generate leads.
  • Support the sales funnel by nurturing prospects and aligning marketing efforts with revenue goals.

Brand Repositioning Execution

  • Lead the organization’s brand repositioning efforts, ensuring clarity and consistency across all messaging channels.
  • Develop and execute campaigns that reinforce the new brand identity and eliminate past confusion.

Add more tools, technology and dashboards to support MMA marketing

  • We could use more tools to support MMA in a variety of areas, such as but not limited to, social media, campaign analytics, sentiment analysis, content management, and so much more.
  • MMA currently only has Salesforce, Pardot, Outreach, Munch, InGo, maybe more.

Innovation and Mission-Driven Marketing

  • Champion innovative, science-based marketing approaches that challenge traditional practices and advance the field of marketing.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts are mission-driven and deliver unbiased, powerful insights.

Key Measures of Success:

  • Increased engagement with content, as measured by downloads, views, and shares.
  • Growth in in-person and virtual/webinar event attendance and participant satisfaction.
  • Enhanced member satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Successful execution of the brand repositioning campaign, evidenced by improved brand recognition and alignment.
  • To get public recognition for MMA’s revolutionizing marketing and unlocking its impact.
  • To both engage MMA in the public discourse and to lead public discussions on the state of marketing.
  • Growth in demand generation metrics, including qualified leads and sales conversions.
  • Strengthened partnerships and alignment between marketing initiatives and organizational goals.

Ideal Candidate:

A thoughtful and knowledgeable B2B marketing leader with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically, driven by a passion for advancing advanced marketing practices. Experience targeting the marketing community will be highly valued. It would be great if you are a student of marketing expertise and have a reputation for being reflective about the marketing industry.

Someone who has trusted partners they can bring on board quickly and has a command of various marketing support technologies and tools will be valued. Plus, knowledge of applying AI to marketing will be highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree ok too. A degree in marketing is valued but not required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing and marketing leadership roles. Best if the experience includes effectively targeting CMOs and enterprise marketers and/or the AdTech and MarTech community.
  • Proven success in content strategy and simplifying complex marketing concepts.
  • Expertise in organic social, paid digital, and email marketing, in addition to innovative campaign creation and execution.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, marketing analytics, and data-driven member engagement strategies.
  • Experience in brand repositioning is helpful.
  • Also experience in membership businesses could be beneficial. Work experience in nonprofits is not needed, but a history of being engaged as a member of non-profits will be respected.
  • Experience in event marketing and attendee engagement and acquisition could be valuable.
  • Extremely strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are expected.
  • Collaborative experience with executive leadership, particularly CMOs and CEOs.
  • Commitment to MMA Global’s mission and a passion for advancing the marketing industry.
  • MMA’s culture is one of getting stuff done. We like doers, and at all levels of the MMA, we are a hands-on orientation.
